Explore the cultural and native side of Sri Lanka by taking a tour through these locations and meeting the native people of this country.

Day 01

After landing explore Colombo, a vibrant city in Sri Lanka. You can discover the contemporary marvels of Colombo once you get there. It will captivate you to see the breathtaking skyscrapers that reach the skyline. Visit Independence Square and the Old Parliament Building for additional examples of colonial-style architecture. Savour the fusion cuisine of Colombo and enjoy the exciting nightlife of the city

  • Kandy is a vibrant city that displays its cultural heritage through historical sites located throughout its territory and the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic as soon as you get to Kandy to take in its breathtaking splendour. See how the locals express their spirituality by using clay oil lamps and lit incense sticks. After you get back to the city take in some evening performances of traditional Sri Lankan dance.

After leaving Kandy, travel to Mahiyangana on the third day. There are many wonders of Sri Lanka to behold when you arrive in this town with a rich cultural heritage. Participate in the clay-making process and learn about the origins of the activity. Enjoy a delicious lunch of rice and curry after learning the craft of pan weaving from a village family. Climb the mountain to discover some undiscovered gems like Kaluwa Wetuna Ella and Rathna Ella.

Visit the village of Dambana Vedda and get to know the people there. Explore the jungle and learn the stories that underpin the locals way of life with them as your guides. Ask for their wisdom and anecdotes as you traverse the caves and mountains. Make your way back to the village and visit one of their homes before savouring a traditional barbecue and watching the Vedda dance in their traditional manner in front of a blazing camping fire.

At the start of the fifth day depart for the picturesque Gal Oya National Park. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the grounds while taking in the stunning surroundings as you explore the National Park. A jeep safari will allow you to see these amazing places. Observe the elephants grazing close to watering holes and the crocodiles relaxing in the sun.

On day six you will be greeted by the village chief upon your arrival in Gal Oya Vedda Village. Make friends then go through the jungles that belonged to his ancestors, explore the former hunting grounds and listen to the songs of the locals in their own language. Take inspiration from the wisdom and traditions that have been handed down through the ages. Take pleasure in listening to the stories of the hunter-gatherer ancestors from the past.

Upon entering Gal Oya National Park on the morning of day seven you will be treated to the most thrilling boat safari. As you ride through the Senanayake Samudraya you can see elephants travel across the lake to the other side. To enjoy dinner and learn about cooking at a typical local establishment, get to Ella before dusk.

Make sure you spend some time exploring Ella before heading to the end of the journey. First go to Little Adam’s Peak where you can enjoy breath-taking views of the Ella Gap, a charming mountain range that stretches for miles. The Nine Arches Bridge which is well-known for its picturesque views is worth seeing. Lastly visit Weligama, a coastal city on the South Side.

Enjoy spending the day by the sea before departing Sri Lanka for the airport.
